Wake up at 6 am and departure for the temple Greco-Roman of Edfou (temple of Horus). It is gigantic and the drawings are splendid. We feel very small compare to this building. The hieroglyphs are very well preserved, they look like comic strips. The Greeks when they invaded Egypt are integrated into their culture and wrote Greek names in hieroglyphs. This language was used by certain coptes (Christian Egyptians) until the 16th century!!
At 10.30 am we returned to the boat which left for Kom Ombo. And a new surprise is waiting for us on our bed. During navigation, I read in our room while Christelle took a sun bath on the upper deck.
At 4.30 pm we arrived at Kom Ombo. We are at the edge of the temple of Sobeck and Haroeris. The sight from the boat is splendid. We leave to foot in direction the temple. All is in double (2 entries, 2 holly rooms, but 1 hypostyle room) because this temple represents two gods. Everything is magnificently preserved.
At 6 pm the sun set and we benefit from lightings which emphasize this splendid temple. After the visit, we walk in the souk. Quiet atmosphere in the trees in flower. We meet two babies camel, their owner give us grass to feed them. Christelle buys some tunics, then we return on the boat to go towards Aswan.
The evening we went to bed early because the following day we have to wake up at 3am, but of course I am not able to fall asleep before midnight!!
During this time at Wallingford, Marc and Arthur spend a good day to the park and the swimming pool.
