The work of nature is splendid. The desert is beautiful. The mountains with the colours ochre-yellow and black with white sinuosity are indescribable. We visited three tombs, all very colourful. There are frescos on all the walls which tell us stories. In one of the tombs we discover unfinished frescos. Certain parts are just drawings in black as if it were done with a pencil, others are already engraved, but not coloured and others are finished, coloured with yellow, blue, red or of green.
On the ceilings we always find stars on a magnificent blue background. Two tombs still have the sarcophagi (without their mummies). Everything is still well preserved. We see even archaeologists cleaning some walls.
Then we went to see the colossi of Memnons. Two gigantic statues of approximately 19 meters tall, of which one is a monolith. After that, we set off again for the boat which starts to sail on the Nile. We look at the departure on the upper deck with a big sun and a good small wind. Things seem very peaceful on the Nile, we can see palm plantations and typical villages on each banks. There is a lot of cruising boat around us (Mervat will say to us later that there are 300 cruising boats on the Nile)
After lunch, we do good a nap (it is so good to be on holiday!) We discovered a surprise on our beds: there are two cobras, protector of the low-Egypt. At 3.30pm I begin my first massage appointment. Without saying a word to him, he immediately finds the sensitive points of my back. He works a lot on my sacrum, I suffer, but it's good at the same time. During my massage there is a lot of noise outside, but it is only when Christelle has her massage that I i understand what it is. We had arrived at the lock of Esna and as we must wait for the authorization to pass, the salesmen come by boat to harcel us. They shout some “Madam, Sir, look 1euro!” Apparently they threw articles on the upper deck (we knew the history only after by some girls from our group!), I didn't understand very well how we pay them, but it should have been very funny to see. It's a shame we missed that, but for a 30 minutes massage it was worth it.
We finished our afternoon on the upper deck. After dinner, there was an disco music evening. Our part of the group (the 12 of the table), we went in the living room where Carlos showed us magic tricks with cards and a coin, then we danced until 10.30pm. At 11pm we passed the lock, so we all went to see that. It is impressive to see two large boats wedged in a lock!!
After that we went to bed. It was a good day: not too much visit, a quiet afternoon. The dream.

During this time at Wallingford, Marc and Arthur made a pub walk with some friends.
